Bishop Auckland Schools’ Project Booking Form

Theme:           Britain’s Folk History

Through storytelling, dance, song and photography pupils will learn about Folk cultural life in Britain.

Project members: 10 -15 primary schools and possibly two nursery schools in the Bishop Auckland area. The aim is for each school to have two and a half days of cultural activities/ workshops during May and June 2015 to explore Britain’s folk history then come together for a sharing event in June at Auckland Castle. The project is for year 3-4 pupils (7-9 year olds) in the Bishop Auckland area, County Durham, North East of England. (Please note two nurseries and one infant school will probably choose a day of activities as they like to make links.)

Plan: All practitioners are very experienced and have the appropriate references in place. Each school has two and a half days’ contact time and then a half day sharing event. Working collaboratively enables practitioners to provide competitive rates for their work and all contracting and co-ordination and liaison with the schools will be carried out by a project officer.
